True Blood is a series that airs on HBO during the summer and is going to be starting their 5^th season this year. The series is based off The Southern Vampire Mysteries, also known as The Sookie Stackhouse Novels, written by Charlaine Harris beginning in 2001. As of 2011, there are currently 12 books in the series with two more expected to be released in May 2012 and 2013 respectively (Wikipedia). The True Blood show was introduced in 2008 and will be introducing its 5^th season starting June 10, 2012. Thanks to the discovery of synthetic blood, vampires are no longer the legendary monsters but are now fellow citizens. While some people have fully accepted vampires into the community, many religious leaders and government officials are fighting their rights. The story line follows a local waitress Sookie Stackhouse in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps. 

Sookie Stackhouse, a local waitress is used to feeling like an outcast. “Cursed” with the ability to listen to people’s thoughts, she is open-minded about integrating vampires into society. When Bill Compton, a 173-year old vampire comes to town, Sookie quickly takes an interest him. Unfortunately, Bill’s less virtuous vampire associates draw Sookie into a series of catastrophes that will put their love to the ultimate test. As the series progresses we are introduced more creatures including shape shifters, werewolves, and fairies (HBO).
